Book Talk: "Strategic Narratives, Public Opinion and War. Winning Domestic Support for the Afghan War" - 30 June 2015

On 30 June 2015, Beatrice de Graaf, George Dimitriu and Jens Ringsmose, editors of the book "Strategic Narratives, Public Opinion and War - Winning Domestic Support for the Afghan War" presented the content of this fascinating volume at NATO HQ to a focused audience including NATO staff and some students of the University of Utrecht. Ben O’Loughlin and Laura Roselle, two of the authors of the book, also greatly contributed to this presentation.

Beatrice De Graaf is professor for the History of International Relations & Global Governance at the Utrecht University, The Netherlands.

George Dimitriu is a Research Fellow at the Netherlands Defence Academy, The Netherlands.

Jens Ringsmose is Associate Professor at the Center for War Studies, University of Southern Denmark, Denmark.

Laura Roselle is Visiting Professor in the Sanford School of Public Policy, Durham, North Carolina, United States.

Ben O'Loughlin is Professor of International Relations at Royal Holloway, University of London, United Kingdom.

The conference was introduced by Jaap de Hoop Scheffer, former NATO Secretary General and chaired by Jamie Shea, Deputy Head of the Emerging Security Challenges Division at NATO.
