NATO’s public disclosure policy makes available for consultation documents of thirty years or older that have been declassified and approved for public disclosure.
The NATO Archives Reading Room is located in the Public Square of NATO Headquarters, where it shares a space with the NATO Library.
The NATO Archives Reading Room enables additional access to more than 500.000 declassified and publicly disclosed documents originating from the International Staff, the International Military Staff, as well as documents of the North Atlantic Council and its sub-committees dating from the first 20 years of the Alliance.
Researchers wishing to visit the NATO Archives Reading Room are invited to fill out the Access Request Form. Information about visitor conditions and regulations for the Reading Room is provided in the Access Guidelines. Any inquiries can be sent to mailbox.natoarchives@hq.nato.int.
Please note that requests for access to the NATO Archives Reading Room requires a minimum of 10 working days to process.
