Abstract:The article presents a political risk report for Libya as of October 1, 2010. Efforts by Libya to normalize its relations with the international community have been affected by the growing suspicions that Tripoli pulled off a scam which enabled Abdelbaset al-Megrahi, the convicted mastermind of the 1998 Pan Am Flight 103 bombing, to escape justice. An investigation into possible violations of anti-corruption laws has been announced in July. A number of legislation has been approved by the government as part of its economic diversification program.
